In Desperation to save my Mothers life and legs I went on the internet to ask medical friends who was the v best in diabetic vascular medicine and Prof O'Donnell was mentioned by a few friends as the best. Mum was in Bupa and we had been under a private consultant but she was v ill with infection and her toes had turned black. Immediately we had our consultation with Prof O'Donnell he acted and got my Mothers infection under control and a couple of operations later she is feeling well in herself and could not have got better care from the Prof. My only regret is that we had not found him earlier.

Profile

I attended Medical School at the Queen's University of Belfast in Northern Ireland between 1994 and 1999 and graduated with distinction combined with the award of the Northern Ireland Medico-Legal Prize for Forensic Medicine. I completed surgical training as a Specialist Registrar on the Northern Ireland Surgical Training Rotation between 2006 and 2015. During this time, I completed both a Masters in Medical Science and a Medical Doctorate in research. I established a prolific research pedigree with over 100 publications in PubMed Indexed Peer-Reviewed journals and more than 250 international and national presentations combined with many prestigious awards including the Society of Vascular Surgery International Scholar Award, Society of Academic Surgery Research Prize and Belfast City Hospital Young Investigator of the Year.

Completion of a Vascular Surgery Fellowship and appointment as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the World-Renowned Mayo Clinic in the United States between 2012 and 2014 not only complemented my vascular surgery skills but facilitated endovascular proficiency in many minimally invasive treatments for complex arterial and venous disease.

I passed the FRCS Exit Examination at first attempt in 2012 and was recently awarded first place and the Gold Medal in the European Board of Vascular Surgery Examination in 2015.

I am a regular surgical tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons England and have recently been involved as a member of course re-configuration teams.

I pride myself on clear descriptions of clinical conditions and procedural intervention for my patients. Please visit my web page for more information on vascular conditions that I assess, investigate and treat. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.
